San Francisco Travel Diary

This summer I went to San Francisco and absolutely fell in love!!! Here are some of the highlights of my trip that I recommend if you ever get the opportunity to visit!

Alcatraz: By far this was my favorite place in all of San Francisco. The views were amazing and the history of the island was incredible! The island is home to many species of seagulls and flowers. If you visit, buy your tickets online and choose the earliest time slot because you will practically have the island to yourself.

16th Avenue Tiled Steps: These tiled steps are beautiful and the perfect place to take pictures. If you go on a clear day you can see some incredible views of the city.

Painted Ladies: How can you visit San Fran and not come to these iconic homes? They are so cute and the park offers even more incredible views of the city.

Ghirardelli Square: Home to the delicious chocolate brand, this square is just down from the Fisherman’s Wharf. The ice cream is amazing but if you don’t want to wait in the long line, go to the upstairs store that is to-go but has plenty of tables to dine in at.

Lombard Street: This famous street is a must see. If you continue walking around the area you will come across a trail that leads down to Chinatown. Along this trail are some amazing overviews of the entire city.

Golden Gate Bridge: This bridge lives up to its reputation. I got to visit during its centennial and it was amazing. If you show up and can’t see the bridge through the fog, wait it out a couple minutes and the fog will clear out. I don’t recommend biking across the bridge because it is so crowded, but I do recommend walking part of it.
